Rest Day Recipe

According to Mark Sisson in “The Primal Blueprint,”  many people experience adverse effects to milk due to lactose intolerance and casein sensitivities. Casein is a protein that is believed to have autoimmune-stimulating properties that can contribute to or aggravate diseases such as Celiac disease, Chron’s, and asthma.

Almond milk is a drink made from almonds and water than can be substituted for cow’s milk.  You can buy almond milk in stores, but it is often full of sugar and other unnecessary ingredients.  Try this simple Almond Milk Recipe for a healthy, casein-free, lactose-free alternative to milk.  You can drink the almond milk on its own, add to recipes, and even add it to your morning cup of coffee. If you don’t have time to soak the almonds, just blanch them in boiling water for about a minute to get similar effects. Enjoy!
