Javi, Vero, Mike, Becky, and George at CST Sectionals in Austin, TX (March 13, 2010)
Congratulations to all the G7 athletes that competed at the CST Sectionals this weekend in Austin. It was a great weekend for G7 and everyone did an amazing job! Becky, Vero, George, Javi, and Mike all gave tremendous effort in each of the 3 rigorous workouts this weekend and we are very proud of all of you! Mike Garza and Veronica Garza qualified to move on to the May 29th-30th Regional qualifier in Fort Worth, Texas. George, Javi, and Becky will now continue their training with plans to compete on the G7 affiliate team at Regionals.
Special thanks to CrossFit Central for hosting Sectionals and to everyone who showed their support this weekend, especially Wes Kimball and the entire CrossFit Austin crew, Phillip Garcia and Ashleylou Hinojosa of CrossFit Plus 1, Jake Tijerina, Linda Salcedo, David De Leon, and all of G7′s friends, family, and supporters. Your cheers and well wishes really motivated each of our athletes to continue fighting through every rep. The workouts were really challenging and fun to watch, but what made the event so exciting was the energy of the crowd and everyone involved. Athletes from different CrossFit gyms throughout Texas came together for a very challenging competition and supported each other every step of the way. It was a community. That is what CrossFit is all about!
