1.  Why did you join G7Athletics?
I joined G7 Athletics primarily to improve my overall lifestyle.  I wanted to get physically fit and get stronger. I’ve never really been athletic so I was hesitant at first, but i knew I had to do some kind of strength/cardio exercise to avoid health problems in the future.
 2. What was your life prior to G7 Athletics?
My life prior to G7 consisted of always trying to eat healthy but never really happy with myself.  I tried running, zumba classes, treadmills and eliptical machines but always found myself not being consistent and getting bored easily.  I never really felt that I had the energy or endurance to do much exercise, I was always tired.  I  made excuses and never had time to commit to an exercise program.
 3.  What results have you seen since joining the G7Athletics community?
The biggest change that I’ve seen since joining G7 is my overall attitude about exercising. Exercise is a priority in my life now!  I am doing things now that I never imagined I could do.  My confidence is improving and I am getting stronger everyday.  I have much more energy, sleep great and feel amazing.   I have seen changes in my weight and definitely in how my clothes fit but I have also seen significant changes in my overall attitude and demeanor.  My youngest son told me the other night that ever since I joined G7 I look much happier and I don’t get mad so easily.  I guess he has also seen some significant changes!
 4.  Has G7Atheltics helped you breakthrough any mental barriers?
Yes, ever since I started I have changed my diet completely.  I must admit I did not think it was possible to adapt to this (Primal) diet, but I have found that it really just takes planning and knowlege.  I am always reading labels, trying new recipes and different ways to be creative with food.  I made up my mind that if I was going to work this hard in the gym that I needed to change the way I ate so that I could see better results.
 5. List any data & hard numbers
I have lost a total of 12 lbs since I started G7. I have a long way to go before I reach some of my personal goals but I know that with the help of my coach (Vero) I will get there.

1.Why did you join G7 Athletics?
I was getting tired of my workout routine that had not changed much over the last couple of years.  I had reached a plateau and I needed a change.
2. What was your life like prior to G7 Athletics?
I have been into exercise & fitness since high school but it wasn’t until about 3 years ago that I really started dedicating myself to truly taking care of my body.  I would go to a local gym 4-5 times a week and run several miles each week religiously.  I felt I was “in shape” however I also felt a dissatisfaction with the long, monotonous workouts I had been doing these last few years.  I had heard about G7 but wasn’t sure it was for me,  I thought it was a “bootcamp” for those who weren’t used to working out.  It wasn’t until a friend of mine (Sheldon) starting suggesting to me that I join and see what G7 was truly about that I really considered joining.  I was ready to make the switch and I’m glad I did.
3. What results have you seen since joining the G7 Athletics community?  (emotional, physical, & mental)
I can see and feel an overall improvement in my health and physique since joining G7.  I make a more conscience effort to eat better, I feel stronger than I ever have and I sleep better.  The list goes on and on.
4. Has G7 Athletics helped you break through any mental barriers?
The G7 Strong program not only makes you physically stronger, but mentally stronger as well.  Thanks to the G7 coaches, I always try to squeeze in one or two more reps when I would normally just give up. There’s a great satisfaction in knowing you gave it 100% and physically you can feel it.
5. List Any Data & Hard Numbers you have, include before & current.
Body Fat Dropped -13% to 9%
Inches Lost – 33″ to 32″
Weight Lost – 188lbs to 183lbs

Gus Orta

Gus Orta

My name is Gus Orta, I am 16 years old and I joined in G7 Athletics in May of 2011. I joined because I wanted to get fit over the summer.
Before joining G7 I would jog and bike ride to “try” and stay healthy. I wasn’t the fastest jogger. I could run a mile in about 14 to 15 minutes and that was difficult for me. When I finished my first official class at G7, I  realized how out of shape I was. I was embarrassed at how badly I performed but I told my self “stick with it and you’ll see the results you want”. I remember not being able to do pushups, having to use the biggest band to do pull-ups, being a little fatigued after the warm up, and “almost” wanting to give up my first month of being there.
But surely enough my hard work has paid off! I can now do push ups, pull-ups with a smaller band, and I can run 1 mile in 11 minutes and 3 miles in under 36 minutes. Now when I wake up the first thing I think of is what the work out at G7 is going to be and, when I am at school I just want the day to fly by so I can go to the gym. I no longer have thoughts of wanting to give up or stop and during each workout. I try and push a little bit harder by increasing the weight I use, the height of the box or shaving a few seconds off my time.
I have learned how to eat healthy and I look forward to continued success at G7. I owe all my success to the coaches/athletes who push and motivate me. Especially head coach, Rob for helping me during the “G-Force Challenge”, and my mother and brother for working right beside me.
In my 6 months at G7 I have lost 43 pounds and 6 inches off my waist.
